Booking & Payment Policy

Last updated: August 2026

How your Bhutan journey moves from an idea to a confirmed booking, and how payments are handled along the way.

1How to enquire

You can enquire about a journey through our website enquiry form, by email, or by booking a free consultation. There is no obligation when you enquire — it is simply a conversation about what you are looking for.

2Free consultation

We offer a free 15-minute consultation with a Bhutan travel specialist. This is an opportunity to discuss your travel dates, interests, group size and budget, and to receive initial recommendations. The consultation does not create a booking or a binding arrangement.

3Receiving a proposal

After your enquiry or consultation, we will prepare a tailored proposal including a day-by-day itinerary, inclusions, and pricing. Pricing is provided in Australian dollars (AUD) and is indicative until a booking is confirmed.

4How a booking becomes confirmed

A booking is confirmed when you accept the proposal in writing (including by email) and pay the required deposit. Once we receive your acceptance and deposit, we will confirm arrangements with our Bhutanese local partner and issue a booking confirmation.

5Deposit

To confirm your booking, you pay a deposit of 40% of the total booking price at the time of booking confirmation. The deposit secures your dates and initiates arrangements with our local partner. Once your booking is confirmed, the deposit is non-refundable, subject to any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

6Balance payment

The remaining 60% balance is due 45 days before your scheduled departure date. The exact due date will be confirmed in your booking confirmation. If you anticipate any difficulty meeting this date, please contact us as early as possible so we can discuss options.

7Last-minute bookings

If your booking is made 45 days or less before departure, full payment of the total booking price is required at the time of booking confirmation, in place of the deposit and balance arrangement above. This is because there is not enough time before departure to follow the usual deposit-and-balance schedule.

8Accepted payment methods

We accept payment by credit and debit card (Visa, Mastercard and American Express), Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Australian bank transfer (direct deposit). Card and digital wallet payments are processed securely through our payment provider, Stripe. Bank transfer details will be provided with your booking confirmation. All payments are made to AUNZ to Bhutan, which then engages and pays our Bhutanese partner.

9Currency

All quotes and payments are in Australian dollars (AUD). If you are paying from a different currency, your bank's exchange rate and any fees will apply.

10What you receive after booking

After your booking is confirmed, you will receive a written confirmation, your itinerary, and pre-departure information including visa and permit guidance. We remain available to answer questions leading up to your departure.

11Late payments

If a payment is not received by the due date, we may need to hold or adjust arrangements. Please contact us as early as possible if you anticipate any difficulty meeting a payment date, so we can discuss options.

12Information still to be confirmed

Bank transfer account details and any deposit payment deadline will be confirmed with you directly as part of your proposal and booking confirmation.
